Hi, I’m (Habib) Muhammad Habibullah Galih Tri Aji
I am a PhD researcher based in Shanghai, China, with a passion for marine geochemistry, and marine geology. My research explores how tectonic processes, chemical weathering, and the global carbon cycle interact to shape Earth’s climate over geologic timescales.
Originally from Indonesia, I have always been fascinated by the dynamic processes that shape our planet. This curiosity drives my interest in understanding the connections between the solid Earth, oceans, atmosphere, and climate through geological and geochemical records.
My work combines field observations, geochemical analyses, and marine sediment records to investigate the mechanisms that regulate atmospheric CO₂ and long-term environmental change. I am particularly interested in continental weathering, carbon cycling, tectonic–climate interactions, and Earth system evolution.
I have participated in scientific expeditions across the Western Pacific Ocean, East China Sea, Toyama Bay, Sumatra Island, and the Malay Peninsula, gaining experience in both marine and terrestrial environments. These experiences continue to inspire my research, and I look forward to many more scientific expeditions in the future.
Through my research, I hope to contribute to a better understanding of the processes that have shaped Earth’s climate and environments throughout geological history.
